Ukraine's DTEK calculates cost of restoring TPPs after Russian attacks in March: twice as expensive as repairs after previous winter
DTEK Group, the largest private energy company in Ukraine, has estimated the cost of restoring damaged thermal power plants after two massive Russian strikes in March at $230 million.

Details: "To restore the TPPs, we need equipment worth $230 million. The lion's share of the amount is the purchase of transformers," said the CEO.
The cost of the repair campaign after the previous winter was $126 million.
With the equipment in place, DTEK plans to increase its capacity by almost four times by winter. DTEK lost 80% of its generation due to the attacks last month. The main works will be carried out in April-May to have the system recovered before the summer consumption peak.
Timchenko said that the fastest way to find the equipment is to bring it from Eastern Europe, where there are closed Soviet-era power plants.
"Our employees have already travelled to the Baltic States, Bulgaria, and Romania to arrange such deliveries," he added.
It is also possible to use the unused equipment available in Ukraine. DTEK is currently in dialogue with Ukrenergo and Centrenergo companies.
