Over 300 traitors convicted in Ukraine last year – CHESNO movement

326 traitors and 793 collaborators were convicted in Ukraine in 2023. In total, only 30% of all the treason and collaboration cases pending were heard by the courts. That’s 7% less than in 2022.

Details: According to the data that the journalists analysed, Ukrainian courts heard 1,921 cases of treason and 2,724 cases of collaborationist activity in 2023 – nearly double the figures for 2022.

Quote: "Out of the 1,921 treason cases heard in 2023, only 19 suspects pleaded guilty (1%). That’s nine more cases than in 2022. 117 suspects accused of collaborationist activity pleaded guilty (4%). In total, judges dismissed 34 cases out of 1,386."

Details: The journalists noted that in 2018-2021, only 10 suspects accused of treason pleaded guilty out of 243 proceedings. 60% of the cases considered during that period were dismissed.
