Ukraine's foreign minister leaves for Vilnius to hold talks with Baltic states and France

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is paying a working visit to Lithuania on Friday, 8 March.

Details: The minister will attend five-party talks in Vilnius with the foreign ministers of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and France.

The key topics of their discussion will include "the rapid increase in allied military assistance to Ukraine and the development of defence industry production capacities", a Foreign Ministry statement said.

The five ministers are due to discuss the results of a recent summit in Paris chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron, the implementation of bilateral agreements, and "effective responses to challenges to Europe's security".

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also announced that the five ministers will give a joint press conference on the evening of 8 March.

  • On 7 March, Dmytro Kuleba and Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umierov attended a video conference of the allied countries' foreign ministers and defence ministers on support for Ukraine, initiated by France.
  • During the conference, Ukraine's foreign minister urged the allies to increase and fast-track their support for Ukraine, including by sending training missions if necessary.
