Details: Olena Yanovska, Head coach of the national team, said that her American counterparts had invited Ukrainians to demonstrate how adaptive sports affect the body's recovery.

The Ukrainian participants will showcase their skills in nine sports: archery, athletics, cycling, powerlifting, rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming and wheelchair basketball. She said the team "has had three weeks of hard training sessions behind them."

"Upon your return, you will carry out a very important mission – to bring your fellow soldiers back to their normal lives. By your example, you will show that life does not end after an injury or military service," said Oleksandr Porkhun, acting Minister for Veterans Affairs.

For reference: The United States Air Force and Marine Corps Trials is an annual domestic competition for veterans and US military personnel who have been injured, wounded or otherwise hurt during their military service.

This year, the organisers of the competition invited the Ukrainian team, consisting of veterans and active military personnel, to join them.

The competition will take place from 4 to 16 March 2024 in Las Vegas.

In December, Kyiv hosted the All-Ukrainian Adaptive Sports Competition, which resulted in the selection committee forming a team of 30 participants who will travel to the United States.
