Details announced of ministerial meeting on NATO's 75th anniversary and meeting of NATO-Ukraine Council

The North Atlantic Alliance has announced details of a meeting of foreign ministers of its member states to be held on 3-4 April to mark the 75th anniversary of NATO's founding, with a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council planned on the sidelines.

Details: The official part of the meeting will begin at 11:00 on 3 April, when Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and other ministers will give brief comments to the media as they arrive at the meeting. This will be Sweden's first meeting as a full member of the Alliance. 

A joint address by Stoltenberg and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled for 12:30, followed by a ministerial meeting at 13:00. 

At 16:45, Stoltenberg will hold a press conference following the meeting. 

The next day, ministers will begin arriving at the event at 07:00. The 75th anniversary celebrations will begin at 08:00, with speeches by many foreign ministers.

At 10:30, there will be joint statements from Stoltenberg and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, and at 11:00, the NATO-Ukraine Council will begin.

At 14:00, Allies will hold talks with partners in the Pacific. 

The events will conclude with the Secretary General's final press conference at 16:25.

  • Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Jens Stoltenberg recently coordinated their positions ahead of the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting.
  • During the conversation, Kuleba stressed the need to increase and speed up the supply of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine. For his part, the NATO Secretary General also called on the Allies to show political will and do everything possible to ensure that Ukraine receives the weapons and ammunition it needs as soon as possible.
