Ukrainian government allocates additional US$128.8 million for purchase of drones

The government has allocated an additional 5 billion hryvnias (US$128.8 million) for the Security and Defence Forces, which will be used to purchase drones.

Quote: "An additional 5 billion hryvnias has been allocated today for the security and defence forces. The funds will be used to purchase drones needed by our defenders on the front line," he said.

Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of Economy of Ukraine, noted that agreements worth about UAH 30 billion (US$773 million) have already been signed with UAV manufacturers, and contracts worth 14 billion hryvnias (US$370 million) are being prepared.

  • Businesses and the market in Ukraine are ready to produce over a million UAVs. The government has allocated about 40 billion hryvnias (roughly US$1.04 billion) to set up this production.
