Ukrainian railways present first medical evacuation train for Ukrainian defenders – photo
Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian railways) has demonstrated a medical evacuation train for the first time. Before that, the railway company used separate evacuation cars for the wounded.

Details: During the presentation, Yevhen Liashchenko, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, said that in 2022 they created the first medical car that has no analogues in the world.
Currently, the total number of cars involved in medical evacuation in Ukraine is 62.
"All the cars are fully autonomous and equipped with artificial lung ventilation, blood transfusion, cardiac monitors, aspirators and other medical equipment powered by a generator. There are even resuscitation cars with oxygen stations, and in some cars, in the most critical cases, it is possible to carry out surgery while the train is in motion," the statement said.
By the end of 2024, the railway company promises to convert eight more cars for medical evacuation.
The project was implemented jointly with the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence and the Medical Forces Command.
