Arson of Su-34 aircraft in Russia: Russian court arrests teenager – photo, video
The Traktorozavodsky District Court of the city of Chelyabinsk in Russia has arrested a 16-year-old teenage boy from Dagestan for two months on suspicion of an attempted arson of a military aircraft at the Shagol airbase.

Details: Members of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) detained the teenager on 5 January. According to the investigation, he tried to set a Su fighter jet on fire but it was extinguished quickly.
The boy may be sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment under the article about sabotage (Article 281 of Russia’s Criminal Code).
He is also suspected of setting two railroad facilities on fire in Dagestan in November and December 2023. According to the Russian security forces, his involvement has been proven.
The court proceeding in the case about the fighter jet arson was closed, and journalists were only invited for the announcement of the verdict.
A 16-year-old boy lived in the Dagestan city of Buynaksk together with his parents. He has no previous convictions.
Background: Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) has officially announced that a Su-34 tactical fighter bomber burned out at Shagol airfield in the city of Chelyabinsk, Russia, on the night of 4 January 2024. The DIU also published the video.
According to a source of Ukrainska Pravda, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine is responsible for setting the aircraft in Chelyabinsk on fire.
