Russian Defence Ministry claims to have downed 36 UAVs over Crimea

Russian air defence systems have claimed they have destroyed and intercepted 36 UAVs over Crimea.

Details: In addition, the Russian military reported that one drone was supposedly shot down over Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
Background:
- On 4 January, explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied town of Saky in Crimea, and the occupiers reported an "attack".
- Explosions were also reported near Sevastopol and Novorossiysk. A photo purportedly showing air defence systems responding in Novorossiysk in Russia's south was posted on social media.
- On 4 January, explosions were reported in Sevastopol and Yevpatoriia (Crimea). The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed to have destroyed 10 missiles over the peninsula.
- The Office of Strategic Communications of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the Defence Forces hit a command post belonging to the Russian occupation forces near Sevastopol at around 15:00 on 4 January.
