Russian forces launch 8 Shahed UAVs and 2 Iskander missiles on Ukraine overnight

The Russians attacked Ukraine with eight Shahed kamikaze UAVs and two Iskander-M missiles on the night of 27-28 January.

Quote: "The enemy launched eight Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs from the southeast (the city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Russia), two Iskander-M missiles on Poltava Oblast from Russia's Voronezh Oblast and three S-300 air defence missiles on [Ukrainian government-controlled part of] Donetsk Oblast from the temporarily occupied territory of the oblast on the night of 27-28 January 2024."

Details: The report noted that the Russians targeted civilian facilities and critical infrastructure in Poltava, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.

Mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed four of the eight Russian UAVs used to attack the frontline area.

The Air Force added that early reports indicated no casualties resulting from the ballistic strike.
