Russian strike on Kyiv: damage reported in 3 districts, building and vehicles ablaze, unexploded missile in one of the apartments

Following the morning strike by Russia on Kyiv on 23 January, there are reports of buildings and a kindergarten being damaged in several areas of the city. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, vehicles are ablaze.

Quote from Klitshcko: "A building, cars, and a kindergarten building are on fire in the Sviatoshynskyi district. In the Solomianskyi district, the windows of a multi-story building have been shattered by an explosive wave. There is currently no information about casualties. Medical assistance has been requested at another address in the Solomianskyi district."

Details: One person injured in the Solomianskyi district has been taken to hospital. 

Fire has also been reported in several apartments of a residential building in the Solomianskyi district. Emergency services are heading to the scene. 

The mayor said there was a strike on a non-residential building in the Pecherskyi district. Emergency service units are en route to the location.

Update: Later, Klitschko reported that seven people, including a 13-year-old boy, had been injured as a result of the Russian attack. Most of them are in the Solomianskyi district. Six people were taken to hospital.

As of 08:00, firefighting is ongoing at a non-residential building in the Pecherskyi district.

Quote: "The information about a strike on a kindergarten in Sviatoshynskyi was not confirmed. Cars are burning near the institution," the mayor reported.

Klitschko said that another apartment is on fire at a different address in the Sviatoshynskyi district. As a result of wreckage falling on the building, balconies from the ground to the fourth floor are damaged. One person was found in the apartment where the fire occurred.

In addition, in this area, a non-residential two-story building is on fire. Emergency services are working at the scene.
