Details: The State Special Transport Service will receive UAH 10.7 million (US$280,000), while Defence Intelligence will receive UAH 10.5 million (US$275,000).

The Defence Ministry explained that these funds will be used to procure military equipment and weapons, optical and thermal imaging devices and communications equipment, to produce ammunition, and to repair and maintain equipment, spare parts and components.

Each brigade will determine its needs individually.

The approach taken by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is that the funds allocated by the Cabinet of Ministers will be divided as follows: between UAH 1 and 10 million for each brigade on the following principles:

  • priority will be given to military units which are directly involved in combat action;
  • the organisational structure and number of personnel will be taken into account (infantry receives more and pilots less, since aircraft maintenance is centralised).

"The Ministry of Defence is currently waiting for the needs of each military unit to be determined. The calculations will then be consolidated by the General Staff. The Defence Ministry will then draw up a corresponding request for the Ministry of Finance, after which the funds will be sent to the Defence Ministry and sent on to military units," the Ministry added.
