New Polish government will not lift Ukrainian grain import ban yet
Czesław Siekierski, the Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in Donald Tusk's government, has said that the ban on imports of Ukrainian grain to Poland will remain in place until the relevant rules are developed at EU level.

Details: Siekierski believes that Ukrainian grain exports should follow a different route from European or Polish ones.
"Because there is always, even in transit, a certain risk that some of this grain and other agricultural products will remain on Polish territory," he explained.
Elsewhere, Siekierski has stressed that Poland wants to help Ukraine, but says "regulations on quotas and transition periods are needed" and the issue should be resolved jointly with the European Union.
Poland’s ban on imports of Ukrainian grain and some other agricultural products has been in place since September, when the EU-level embargo expired. Warsaw, however, later announced unilateral restrictions on Ukrainian imports.
Siekierski held his first talks with Mykola Solskyi, his Ukrainian counterpart, in late December. The parties agreed to continue consultations at expert level.
