At least 5 people were killed and 7 people were injured as a result of Russia's aggression on 1 January.

Donetsk Oblast State Administration reports that the Russians killed 3 residents of Donetsk Oblast – in Avdiivka, Ocheretyne, and Pivdenne – on 1 January. Three more people in the oblast were injured during the day.

In addition, it was also established that one person had been injured earlier in Krasnohorivka.

Kherson Oblast Military Administration informs that over the past day, the Russians carried out 87 attacks, firing 466 rounds from mortars, artillery, Grad MLRS systems, tanks, S-60, aircraft and UAVs. The Russian military targeted residential quarters of the populated areas of the oblast, and a critical infrastructure facility in Kherson.

Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reports that the Russians attacked Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi with artillery at around 01:10 on 1 January. A Russian shell hit the roof of a five-storey residential building.

Russian troops struck the village again at approximately 09:00. Early reports indicate that the Russians used an Uragan multiple-launch rocket system.

Also on this day, the Russians attacked Dvorichna in Kupiansk district, killing a civilian.

In addition, in the morning, the Russian army carried out an airstrike on Kucherivka in Kupiansk district: residential buildings and commercial buildings were damaged. Preliminary reports indicate that a FAB-250 air-dropped bomb was used.
