Quote: "There is information that several internal investigations are being conducted there [in Russia – ed.]. So far it is known that a few top officers have been suspended, and it can be assumed that a scapegoat will be found and punished.
There was the crew [of the A50 – ed.]. The information is being established and later it will be published with their names disclosed. This is a very painful loss for the Kremlin politically, militarily and in terms of image. So there is a strong emotional reaction."
Background:
- On 15 January, the Ukrainian Air Force downed a Russian A50 long-distance radar detection aircraft near the Sea of Azov.
