Night of 11-12 January was one of calmest ones lately
The night of 11-12 January has been the quietest recently, with no air attacks by the Russian Federation. However, Russia resumed its air presence and reconnaissance activities using drones on the morning of 12 January.
Source: Air Force spokesman Colonel Yurii Ihnat on air during the national joint 24/7 newscast
Quote: "Last night we had probably the quietest night in recent times. I have not seen such reports yet...there was not a single aircraft or a single means of air attack on the territory of the country during the night."
Details: Ihnat said that such a quiet night could have been the result of deteriorating weather conditions in the airspace, where the Russians are operating drones and aircraft on the territory of Ukraine.
The officer also noted that Russian aircraft activity is currently being recorded in the northern operational area, in the east and in the south of Ukraine. In particular, 10 Russian fighter jets and about five to seven reconnaissance UAVs are in the air [as of the time of the broadcast, which was 12:30 – ed.].
For reference: The day before, unconfirmed information was spread on social media, which Ukrainska Pravda sources called Russian PSYOP, about the supposedly planned Russian attack with the use of a large number of missiles and Shahed attack drones on the night of 11-12 January. [PSYOPs stand for Psychological Operations. The purpose of PSYOPS is to influence the mood of different groups of society. PSYOP components are propaganda, disinformation, concealment of some information and inflation and exaggeration of other information, etc. - ed.]
It is worth mentioning that the Air Force constantly emphasises that Russia can launch a missile strike on any day, regardless of the dates on the calendar.
Defence Intelligence of Ukraine stated that Russia has not increased its production capacity but continues to manufacture missiles and keep a stockpile of up to 1,000 high-precision strategic missiles, including for attacks on Ukraine.
