Updated at 05:37: Kozytskyi added that early reports indicate that there were no casualties in Bilohorshcha. Firefighters are still extinguishing the fire.

Air defence systems were still responding in Lviv, so he asked people to stay in shelters as the threat level was still high.

Updated at 05:52: The head of Lviv Oblast Military Administration added that Shahed drone wreckage was recorded falling in the city of Dubliany, near Lviv. The roof of a student accommodation building is on fire. Firefighters have been working at the scene.

At around 07:00, Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi announced that the Russians had completely destroyed the museum dedicated to Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) Corporal Roman Shukhevych in Lviv. The museum building burned down due to a drone attack. [The UPA was a Ukrainian nationalist paramilitary and partisan formation, active between 14 October 1942 and 14 April 1960 and fighting to liberate the country from occupying powers and set up an independent government - ed.]

Reference: The UPA Corporal General Roman Shukhevych Museum is a branch of the Lviv Historical Museum in the village of Bilohorshcha (now part of Lviv’s Zaliznychnyi District). This is a memorial-type museum, located in the building where Shukhevych died.

Wikipedia says the last headquarters of the UPA commander-in-chief was located in the museum building. It has one floor. There are five themed halls on the ground floor. The first floor recreates the life of the UPA commander-in-chief during his stay in this underground apartment (spring 1948–1950).

An important historical part of the building is the kryivka [a military defence and economic structure of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, located underground] that was located at the entrance to the attic, actually a partition that separated the attic from the room with a double board wall.

Background:

  • As of the evening of 31 December, several dozen Russian attack drones were flying in Ukrainian airspace.
  • On the night of 31 December-1 January, a high-rise building caught fire in Odesa during a drone attack, killing one person.
