The Russian occupying authorities issued an order banning the activity of Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church (UGCC) in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast almost a year ago.

Details: The occupiers also banned the social service organisations Knights of Columbus and Caritas.
The order is dated 26 December 2022, but the Department of Information of the UGCC only found out about it now. It was signed by Yevhen Balytskyi, collaborationist and so-called head of the occupying military-civilian administration of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Quote: "Besides the ban on the activity of the UGCC, the Russian occupying administration ordered to:
- hand over movable and immovable property and land plots of the Church to the occupying military-civilian administration of Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
- terminate the rental agreements for premises and land plots which the UGCC singed earlier with local authorities in Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
- not to register the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church religious community in the occupying authorities of Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
- ban the persons who held leading and administrative positions in the UGCC from registering public and religious organisations in the occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast."
