Russia suffers heavy losses on front, losing 1,270 soldiers and lots of equipment in one day
Ukrainian defenders have killed approximately 1,270 Russian invaders, and destroyed 13 tanks, 40 armoured combat vehicles, 37 artillery systems, 6 multiple-launch rocket systems and 1 Russian aircraft over the course of the past 24 hours.

Details: On 5 December, anti-aircraft gunners of Ukraine's Air Force destroyed a Russian Su-24M bomber near Zmiinyi (Snake) Island as it was attempting to launch a missile and bomb strike in the southern part of Odesa Oblast.
The total combat losses of Russian troops between 24 February 2022 and 6 December 2023 are estimated to be as follows [figures in parentheses represent the latest losses – ed.]:

- 10,456 (+40) armoured combat vehicles;
