Defenders hold positions on left bank of Dnipro, no changes on this front – ISW

According to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian forces are holding their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast, but there have been no changes on this front line.

Details: As of 30 December, Ukrainian forces hold positions on the eastern (left) bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast, but there have been no changes on the contact line in this area.

Russian and Ukrainian sources reported that positional fighting continued on the eastern bank, including near the village of Krynky.

Units of the Russian 810th Marine Brigade (Black Sea Fleet) are reportedly operating on the eastern bank.

Ukrainian military observer Kostiantyn Mashovets said that Russia's Dnepr Grouping of Forces had recently withdrawn units of the 205th Motorised Rifle Brigade (49th Combined Arms Army, Southern Military District of the Russian Federation) from the contact line for recuperation.

The report adds that ISW has previously observed units of the Russian 205th Motorised Rifle Brigade operating on the eastern bank in August.

Background: In autumn and early winter, the Defence Forces advanced on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast, fighting with the Russians.
