Details: The source said Ukrainian Defence Forces struck Russian military facilities in Belgorod Oblast, but unprofessional actions by Russian air defence caused debris to fall in the city centre.
According to the Russians, 10 fires broke out in the city after the explosions. An air-raid warning was issued and people were urged to seek shelter.
Quote: "Joint operations by the Defence Forces continue in response to Russia’s missile attack on Ukrainian cities and the killing of civilians.
The Ukrainian Defence Forces are working on a number of targets, specifically military facilities.
The damage to civilian infrastructure that we are seeing in Belgorod is the result of unprofessional actions by Russian air defence, as well as deliberate and planned provocations."
Update: Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations reported this evening that the death toll in Belgorod had risen to 18, with 111 people injured. The death toll subsequently rose to 20.
