Russian attack on 29 December killed 39 Ukrainians, Zelenskyy says

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that 39 people were killed and 159 injured in the massive Russian missile strike on 29 December.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Work is still ongoing to deal with the aftermath of yesterday's Russian attack. Nearly 120 cities and villages – hundreds of civilian targets – were damaged.
In total, 159 people were injured in this terrorist attack. Sadly, as of now, 39 of them lost their lives."
Details: Zelenskyy thanked search and rescue teams, utility workers and police officers for their work, as well as Ukraine’s Western partners for their support.
Background:
- On the night of 28-29 December, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine. Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia and other cities were hit.
- Out of the 158 air targets the Russians launched on Ukraine, 114 were destroyed by the air defence network. Ukraine's Air Force said Russia employed nearly every kind of weaponry at its disposal.
