Details: It is noted in the report that Russian forces continued to try to regain previously lost ground in western Zaporizhzhia Oblast on 29 December, but there were no confirmed changes to the front line in the area.
A Russian blogger claimed that Russian troops had advanced two kilometres east of Novoprokopivka (south of Robotyne), although the ISW has no visual evidence of this advance.
Ukrainian military observer Kostiantyn Mashovets noted that units of the 7th and 76th Russian airborne divisions managed to regain lost positions in the area over the past two to three days and drove Ukrainian troops out of some positions north and west of Verbove (east of Robotyne).
Russian and Ukrainian sources stated that positional fighting continues along the Kopani-Robotyne-Novoprokopivka-Verbove line, especially around Robotyne and between Novoprokopivka and Verbove.
Units of the 7th and the 76th Russian airborne divisions, 136th Motor Rifle Brigade (58th Army Corps, Southern Military District) and 71st Motor Rifle Regiment (42nd Motor Rifle Division, 58th Army Corps, Southern Military District) reportedly continue to operate in the area.
