Russia feels free to kill people in Ukraine and beyond – Ukraine's Representative to UN
Serhii Kyslytsya, Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN, has informed the Security Council about the consequences of Russia's massive attack on Ukraine, noting that by killing "innocent people in Ukraine and abroad," the Russian Federation feels free to do so.

Quote: "Just look at the list of targets that were so "bravely" destroyed by Russia last night. A maternity ward, educational facilities, a shopping mall, 45 multi-storey residential buildings, private houses, two churches, commercial and storage facilities, and a parking lot.
Given the reports on a Russian missile intruding into the air space of Poland during the Russian strike, we reiterate that Russian air terror poses a dangerous threat not only to Ukraine but to the neighbouring countries as well.
The only way to prevent its spillover effect is to continue supporting Ukraine by further strengthening our defence capacities."
"And as long as Russia is able to kill the credibility and integrity of the Security Council, it will feel free to kill innocent people in Ukraine and beyond."
Previously: The United States accused Russia of purposefully distracting the UN Security Council with topics about the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine a decade ago, while Moscow was preparing its largest missile and air strike on Ukrainian cities.
Background:
- On the night of 28-29 December, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine. Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia and other cities were hit.
- In total, out of the 158 air targets the Russians launched towards Ukraine, 114 were destroyed by air defence. The Russian Federation, according to the Air Force, employed nearly every kind of weaponry at its disposal.
- The President's Office previously reported 26 dead, and more than 120 wounded.
- As of 19:30, it was reported that the Russian massive strike on 29 December had resulted in approximately 30 deaths and over 160 injured, according to Ihor Klymenko, Ukraine's Minister of Internal Affairs.
