Zelenskyy: US donates 34 military aid packages worth US$24 billion over this year

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that the United States has provided Ukraine with 34 military assistance packages worth over US$24 billion in 2023 and expressed gratitude to the United States for such support.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Over the course of this year, the US has provided 34 military aid packages worth over $24 billion. 'Patriots' [air defence missile systems], 'Abrams' [main battle tanks], armoured vehicles, ATACMS [long-range missiles], DPICM [cluster munitions], air defence, missiles, artillery rounds, mine clearing capabilities, and other critical equipment. A historic decision to provide Ukraine with F-16 jets was made. We will always be grateful for all of this support."

Details: Zelenskyy also extended his gratitude to President Joe Biden, Congress and the American people for the new US$250 million military aid package announced.

Ukraine will receive additional missiles and air defence assets, anti-tank weapons, ammunition, mine clearance and other equipment, Zelenskyy noted.

The Ukrainian president stressed that the US leadership in the coalition of over 50 countries providing military assistance to Ukraine is crucial to countering terror and aggression not only in Ukraine but also worldwide.

"To defend freedom and security not only in Ukraine and Europe but also in the United States, we must continue to respond to ongoing Russian aggression in the most forceful and resolute manner possible."
