US Ambassador reacts to Russian attack on Kherson railway station

Bridget Brink, the US Ambassador to Ukraine, has responded to the Russian bombardment of Kherson railway station and posted a picture of the train that was damaged in the strike for her followers to see.

Quote: "Last night, Russians brutally shelled the Kherson railway station as over 100 civilians were trying to evacuate after enduring hours of attacks. It is another reminder [that] when most people are at home marking the holidays with family, Russia’s barbaric attacks continue in Ukraine."
Background:
- Marija Pejčinović Burić, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, has also condemned the Russian attack.
- At around 18:00 on 26 December, Ukrainska Pravda reported that Russian forces had attacked a railway station in Kherson, killing a police officer and injuring two of his colleagues and two civilians.
- Passengers who had been waiting for the train, which was unable to depart, were taken to Mykolaiv by bus.
