Ukraine's Olympic Committee chooses best athletes of 2023, including high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh
The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine has chosen its best athletes and coaches of the year, with Ukrainian swimmer Oleksandr Zheltiakov named best young athlete and Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh named best athlete.

Quote: "The best athlete of 2023 is Yaroslava Mahuchikh, world champion and champion at the third European Games in athletics (high jump).
The best coach of 2023 is Tetiana Stepanova, personal trainer of Yaroslava Mahuchikh.
The title of best young athlete of 2023 is awarded to Oleksandr Zheltiakov, two-time world and European junior swimming champion, who has met the Olympic standard (100 and 200 metres backstroke).
The best young athlete coach of 2023 is Oleksandr Kulyk, personal trainer of Oleksandr Zheltiakov."
Details: The Central Sports Club of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Athletics Federation of Ukraine will receive awards for Mahuchikh’s training.
The NOC’s panel of judges selected the year’s best athletes and coaches based on the results of their performances at major international competitions in Olympic sports.
Mahuchikh made history as world champion in 2023, successfully defended her Diamond League title, and won gold at the European Athletics Indoor Championship. Tetiana Stepanova, who works with the 22-year-old athlete, was named coach of the year.
