Ukrainian forces repel 32 Russian assaults on Avdiivka front – General Staff report
Ukrainian forces repelled 32 Russian assaults on the Avdiivka front and 24 on the Lyman front on Monday, 25 December, and are continuing to hold Russian forces back in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka on the Marinka front.

Details: Over the course of the day, Ukraine’s defence forces clashed with Russian forces 76 times. Russian forces carried out 1 missile strike and 19 airstrikes and deployed multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) 30 times to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian settlements.
There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts.
On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russian forces deployed artillery and mortars to attack more than 20 Ukrainian cities and towns, including Volfyne, Riasne and Sadky (Sumy Oblast) and Ivashky, Udy, Vovchansk, Budarky and Ambarne (Kharkiv Oblast).
Ukrainian forces repelled six Russian assaults near Synkivka (Kharkiv Oblast) on the Kupiansk front, where Russian forces attempted to break through the Ukrainian defences. Russian forces also deployed mortars and artillery to attack around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka and Berestove (Kharkiv Oblast).
On the Lyman front, Ukrainian forces repelled 24 Russian assaults in the vicinity of Bilohorivka and the Serebrianka forest (Luhansk Oblast) and Vesele (Donetsk Oblast), where Russian forces made aircraft-supported attempts to break through the Ukrainian defences. Russian aircraft struck areas in the vicinity of Terny, Dibrova, Siversk, Vyimka, Spirne and Vesele (Donetsk Oblast). Russian forces also deployed mortars and artillery to attack more than 10 Ukrainian settlements, including Nevske and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast).
On the Bakhmut front, Ukraine’s defence forces repelled four Russian assaults near Bohdanivka (Donetsk Oblast). Around 10 civilian settlements, including Vasiukivka, Kalynivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Andriivka and New-York (Donetsk Oblast), came under Russian mortar and artillery fire.
Ukrainian forces repelled 20 Russian assaults to the east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove and Avdiivka, and another 12 assaults near Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk Oblast) on the Avdiivka front, where Russian forces made unsuccessful attempts to break through the Ukrainian defence. Russian forces carried out an airstrike in the vicinity of Novobakhmutivka (Donetsk Oblast) and deployed artillery and mortars to attack around 10 civilian settlements, including Ocheretyne, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne and Pervomaiske (Donetsk Oblast).
On the Marinka front, Ukraine’s defence forces are continuing to hold Russian forces back near Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast), where the Russians carried out three unsuccessful aircraft-supported assaults on Ukrainian positions. Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka and Kostiantynivka (Donetsk Oblast) came under Russian mortar and artillery fire.
Ukrainian forces repelled three Russian offensive operations in the vicinity of Staromaiorske (Donetsk Oblast) on the Shakhtarsk front. Around 10 civilian settlements, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Urozhaine and Staromaiorske (Donetsk Oblast), came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, Ukrainian forces repelled two Russian assaults in the vicinity of Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia Oblast), where Russian forces made unsuccessful attempts to push Ukrainian units out of their positions. Around 20 civilian settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire, including Levadne, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv and Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia Oblast).
On the Kherson front, the cities of Tiahynka, Antonivka and Kherson (Kherson Oblast) and Solonchaky and Kutsurub (Mykolaiv Oblast) came under Russian fire.
"Enemy forces are not abandoning their intentions to drive our units out of their footholds on the left [east] bank of the River Dnipro. Over the course of the past day, enemy forces carried out 12 unsuccessful assaults, were repelled, and sustained significant losses. Our units are firmly holding the line and inflicting fire damage on the enemy," the General Staff reported.
Over the course of today, Ukrainian aircraft struck four clusters of Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment.
Units of Ukrainian Rocket Forces and Artillery also struck four clusters of Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment, two ammunition storage points and three air defence systems.
