Newly appointed Polish Foreign Minister arrives in Kyiv

Radosław Sikorski, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland in the new government, has arrived in Kyiv. This is his first visit abroad in this position.

Details: Sikorski posted a photo from Kyiv on X and wrote that he "has arrived."

As part of the visit, the politician will meet with key Ukrainian officials and speak in the Verkhovna Rada, the parliament. He plans to strrss that relations with Ukraine will remain one of the priorities of Donald Tusk's government.

Sikorski's visit is the first visit by a high-ranking official from EU countries after the EU Council supported the opening of accession negotiations with Ukraine.

Sikorski also had one of his first conversations in his new position with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba.

Background: Sikorski had already visited Ukraine after the start of a full-scale war, in particular, when he brought a car that he and his wife had purchased for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
