Russians form Donetsk volunteer battalion from residents of Russia's Krasnodar Krai

The Russian occupiers have been conducting covert mobilisation under the guise of "staffing volunteer battalions" and using it for war propaganda.

Details: The NRC said the Russians began to form an allegedly volunteer battalion, but in fact a detachment of contract mercenaries, the Donetsk battalion.

For sure, no residents of Donetsk will be there as the recruitment is being held in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.

This battalion is subordinate to the Terek Cossack brigade, which has nothing to do with the Cossacks.

The NRC emphasised that the Kremlin once again uses the term "Cossacks" to smear Ukrainian history to draw analogies with the Cossacks.
