Russian drone causes damage to high-rise building in Kyiv, injuring 2 people – photo

An attack by Russian Shahed UAVs has damaged three flats on the upper floors of a high-rise building and caused a fire in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi District on the night of 21-22 December.

Details: The windows in three other flats were shattered.

Early reports indicate that there were two casualties who suffered soft-tissue injuries and cut wounds, with one of them taken to hospital.

A fire broke out in a two-storey private residential building in Darnytskyi District as a result of falling wreckage from a drone. There were no casualties.

Drone wreckage also fell in Holosiivskyi District. There were no casualties or damage.

Background: 

• A residential building in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district was hit by drone wreckage on the evening of 21 December. 
• Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that wreckage fell on residential buildings in the Solomianskyi and Darnytskyi districts of the capital.
• Kyiv City Military Administration confirmed that a residential building had been hit, and there was a fire on the upper floors.
• Rescue workers showed the aftermath of the Russian drone attack on Kyiv. Walls in three apartments had been destroyed.
