In 2023, Lithuanian instructors trained about 2,900 Ukrainian soldiers in Lithuania and as part of a multinational programme in Britain and the EU mission. This included basic training, as well as training on specific types of equipment and training for commanders of various levels.
1,600 Ukrainian military personnel underwent training on 88 different courses in Lithuania itself, and bomb disposal experts were trained as part of Lithuania's initiative with the Nordic countries.
Next year, Lithuanian instructors will be involved in the training of about 3,500 Ukrainian soldiers – again within the framework of the EUMAM mission and Operation Interflex in the UK, as well as in Lithuania itself.
