Source: Russian Interfax with reference to a statement by Andrei Slepnev, Minister of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission
Quote: "Deliveries from non-CIS countries have not been carried out since 2020, which was due to a high level of self-sufficiency. However, now, against the background of increased consumer demand and lower production due to the epizootic situation, we are seeing a noticeable increase in egg prices."
Details: Slepnev claims this is a short-term measure. Deliveries will also be made from Türkiye.
Background: Since the beginning of the year, egg prices in Russia have increased by 46.2%, according to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service.
