Details: "We have worked very closely with the economic team of Ukraine over the last weeks and today we completed the second review of our programme," IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva announced at a press briefing.
The approval of the second review of the programme means that the third tranche of up to US$900 million can be transferred to the Ukrainian government.
"Now we will work on preparing for the third review in the spring. Stay tuned – this week is very important for us and our future," Rashkovan added.
Background: In November, Ukraine and the IMF reached a staff-level agreement on the second review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), which paves the way for a tranche of about US$900 million.
