Details: Syrskyi reported that the Russian forces are also conducting intense offensive actions near the settlements of Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Lyman Pershyi and towards Siversk.

On the Lyman front, the Russians are conducting an offensive to push Ukrainian troops beyond the Chornyi Zherebets River and out of the Serebrianka Forest area in Luhansk Oblast.

The Russian occupying army is engaged in unsuccessful assault operations near the settlements of Zhytlivka and Terny and is regularly moving personnel from Russia to backfill their assault units.

The Russians are also focusing considerable efforts on the Bakhmut front north and west of the city. They are employing airborne units, Special Forces and the 200th Separate Motorised Rifle Brigade of the Northern Fleet for assault operations.

Syrskyi stressed that the Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding their positions. Commanders and staff at all levels are analysing the operational situation around the clock and developing effective ways to crush the Russian forces further.

Syrskyi added that Russian casualties in the east outnumber those of the Ukrainian Defence Forces by about eight times. Nevertheless, the Russians heavily rely on their numbers.

The military official emphasised that in November alone, the Defence Forces killed about 11,000 Russian troops and destroyed more than 1,100 pieces of military equipment, including 130 tanks and 260 pieces of artillery and mortars of various calibres.
