Russia must be stopped in Ukraine – Blinken
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has noted that Russia must be "stopped in Ukraine" because the Russian Federation could attack a NATO country and involve the US in a "broader conflict".

Quote: "I think the only people who will be happy if the supplemental budget request is not voted on and approved by Congress are sitting in Moscow, sitting in Tehran and sitting in Beijing.
For Ukraine this is absolutely vital. They [Ukraine’s Defence Forces] had made remarkable progress over the last year in pushing back Russian aggression, taking back more than 50 per cent of the territory that was seized since February 2022."
Details: Blinken added that Russia must be "stopped in Ukraine" so that it does not attack a NATO country and draw the United States into a "broader conflict".

- On 6 December, a draft law on assisting Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan failed to pass a procedural vote in the US Senate.
- Meanwhile, the White House announced the strengthening of cooperation between the US and Ukrainian defence industrial bases and joint weapons production.
