Details: Filiponenko previously headed the so-called People's Militia of LPR, and then became a so-called "deputy of the People's Council of the LPR".
On 8 November, it became known that he had died in occupied Luhansk. An explosive device went off in his car.
The car was badly damaged. Judging by the nature of the damage, the explosion's epicentre was near the driver's seat.
Eyewitnesses report that after the explosion, passing drivers tried to help Filiponenko, but he died on the spot.
There was another assassination attempt on Filiponenko in February 2022. That time his car was also blown up, but he survived.
The Russians have opened criminal proceedings under three articles, including an act of terrorism, after the death of Filiponenko.
