318 agriculture businesses in Donetsk Oblast damaged or destroyed since beginning of full-scale invasion

The property of 318 businesses in the agricultural sector has been damaged or destroyed in Donetsk Oblast since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, and the total amount of losses has exceeded 1 billion hryvnias (approximately $28 million).

Quote: "Regarding the total losses of farmers. The property of 318 businesses in the agricultural sector has been damaged or destroyed since the beginning of the war [on 24 February 2022]. These [numbers] include 29 livestock enterprises and 15 businesses for processing and storing agricultural products – in particular, eight elevators and seven bakeries. And 271 businesses [were destroyed or damaged] in crop production and horticulture," Rybakova reported.

She noted that many things in Donetsk Oblast's damaged agricultural sector cannot be assessed and calculated now as there is no access, or it is too dangerous to get to these facilities.

"The total amount of losses [in the agricultural sector of the oblast] is 1 billion and 300,000 hryvnias [approximately US$28 million]. The losses from damaged equipment are 682 million hryvnias [approximately US$19 million]," Rybakova said.

She also stated that over 420 agricultural businesses in the oblast are under Russian occupation.
