Slovenia prepared to give Ukraine up to €5 million to rebuild infrastructure

The Centre for International Cooperation and Development (CMSR), an independent Slovenian non-profit research and advisory organisation in the field of international economic relations, is prepared to give Ukraine up to €5 million to fund infrastructure rebuilding projects.

Details: Anna Yurchenko, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, and Mustafa Naiem, Head of Ukraine’s State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, met with the delegation from Slovenia. The CMSR’s €5 million commitment was announced following the meeting.

The CMSR will establish grants that will cover up to 50% of the costs of infrastructure rebuilding projects.

Ukraine said that Slovenia has provided €4.3 million in humanitarian aid and another €1 million in funds for the Grain from Ukraine programme since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

In July, Slovenia also approved a €1.5 million package to help Ukraine with humanitarian demining.

Ukraine and Slovenia signed a joint declaration in early 2023 in which the latter supported Ukraine’s future NATO membership.
