Pentagon shares details of US Defence Secretary visit to Kyiv
Lloyd Austin, the United States Secretary of Defence, will discuss the provision of the Ukrainian army for the winter period and the future of Russian threats during his visit to Kyiv on 20 November.

Details: The department noted that during Austin's visit, he will engage in high-level talks with the Ukrainian leadership. He will emphasise the United States' ongoing commitment to provide Ukraine with the security assistance necessary to defend against Russian aggression and will also discuss the long-term vision for the future of Ukraine's military forces.
Quote: "The discussions will focus on further bolstering the strategic partnership between the United States and Ukraine, to include ensuring Ukraine's armed forces have the battlefield capabilities they need for both the winter and to defend their country against future Russian threats," the message reads.
The Pentagon added that later this week, Secretary Austin will also host the 17th meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group virtually from the Pentagon.
