Ukrainian ports on Danube doubled cargo handling in 2023
In 2023, Ukrainian ports on the Danube increased cargo handling by 2.2 times to 27.6 million tonnes compared to the same period last year.

Details: It is noted that in the period from January to October 2023, the ports of the Danube cluster (Reni, Izmail and Ust-Dunaisk) increased cargo handling from 12.6 million tonnes to 27.6 million tonnes.
Quote: "Compared to January – October 2021, when only 4.4 million tonnes were processed in the Danube ports, cargo turnover increased 6.3 times," the report says.
According to Lytvyn, out of 40.2 million tonnes of cargo processed in January – October of both this and last year, 18.3 million tonnes were grain cargo, 3.6 million tonnes ore, 3.2 million tonnes were oil, 2.6 million tonnes were oil products and 12.4 million tonnes other cargoes.
In 10 months of this year, the number of processed vessels in the Danube ports increased by 54.3%, – up to 12,000 – in comparison to the same period last year.
