Ukrainska Pravda journalist who exposes corruption is attacked while filming in Kyiv Oblast

Mykhailo Tkach, an Ukrainska Pravda journalist who focuses on uncovering corruption, has been attacked outside a restaurant in the village of Kozyn, Kyiv Oblast.

Details: Around 22:30 on Friday, 17 November, Tkach and his crew were filming outside the Tandyr restaurant, where several high-ranking officials from the Prosecutor’s Office had been spotted. There were a lot of cars parked outside the restaurant.

When the security guards of one of the restaurant customers spotted the cameras, they flashed their car’s fog lights and blocked the car Tkach was in.

Quote from Tkach: "I got out of my car and said I was a journalist from Ukrainska Pravda. The security guards started blocking my way. One of them approached me and hit the camera, and then he hit me too."
