Background:

• On 8 November, ISW reported that the Ukrainian military had moved armoured vehicles to the left bank part of Kherson Oblast.
• On 13 November, analysts from the ISW stated that Ukrainian troops had made some progress on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast.
• On early 17 November, the Ukrainian marines confirmed that Ukrainian forces had secured several footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River on the Kherson front.
• The Ukrainian General Staff reported that a goal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the left bank of the Dnipro River on the Kherson front is to push the Russians further away from the right (western) bank to protect civilians.
