Poland dissatisfied with Ukraine's decision to halt grain import complaint

Poland considers Ukraine's decision to put a complaint against Poland, Slovakia and Hungary to the World Trade Organisation "on pause" as insufficient.

Quote: "At the end of the day, we're asking for a withdrawal of the complaint, not a suspension. This is a good step, but it's not enough. There is absolutely no question of lifting the grain embargo."

Details: Taras Kachka, Deputy Economy Minister and Trade Representative of Ukraine, stated on 5 October that Ukraine filed its complaints against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia to the World Trade Organisation on hold while it tries to find a compromise solution.

Kachka emphasised that work on a "practical solution" to the trade dispute is ongoing.

Speaking about the situation with Poland, Kachka expressed hope that the parties will be able to return to discussions after the elections, as there are no systemic obstacles to solving the problem.
