Nova Poshta, one of Ukraine’s largest delivery operators, will review the operation of its branches in the most dangerous oblasts and plans to equip them with "safety capsules" after the Russian attack on its depot in Kharkiv Oblast.

Quote: "I can't say what exactly we have decided now, but there will definitely be changes in the depot operation mode, especially in areas such as Kharkiv, as there is already some statistics on strikes there."

Details: Klymov also added that the company was considering making the depots similar to the Israeli capsules in residential buildings.

"They are needed in cases when there is even no time to run to a shelter," he explained.

The company already has some experience in the use of such capsules, as some branches in Kharkiv and Mykolaiv have already installed similar capsules.

"There is a concrete capsule in the yard that protects both employees and customers in Kharkiv," Klymov said.

He stressed that the company would be more careful to ensure that branches do not operate during air-raid warnings, especially in cities that ballistic missiles can reach quickly.

Background:

  • A Russian missile hit the Nova Poshta terminal in Kharkiv Oblast on 21 October. The employees who were there did not have a chance to run for cover, as the air-raid warning was issued just a second before the explosion occurred.
  • The local prosecutor's office provided details of the Russian attack on the village of Korotych, Kharkiv district, where 6 people were killed and 16 others wounded.
