Russian attacks cause power outages in some oblasts

A power transmission line was damaged in Kirovohrad Oblast as a result of a Russian attack, causing power outages.

Details: A power transmission line was damaged as a result of Russian attacks and falling pieces in Kirovohrad Oblast, which caused power outages. Restoration works are currently underway.

Further inspection of the damage caused by rocket and bomb attacks on energy facilities in Donetsk Oblast the day before is also underway.

In addition, a substation of the 330 kV transmission system operator in Chernihiv Oblast was disconnected on 23 October. This left 2,600 consumers without electricity. 

Moreover, as a result of technological disruptions, the supply of electricity was temporarily cut off yesterday:

  • for 3,400 consumers in Kyiv Oblast;
  • for more than 1,000 consumers in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. 

A total of 14 settlements in Chernihiv Oblast remain cut off from the power grid.

As a result of the attacks, 21 settlements in Donetsk Oblast and 3 settlements in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were cut off from the power grid. Some consumers in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv oblasts lost their energy supply as well.
