Israel targets Hezbollah cells and dozens of Hamas targets – Israel Defence Forces

Details: The Israel Defense Forces say they hit two more Hezbollah cells in southern Lebanon before they could launch another attack on Israel.
On 22 October, Israeli forces targeted seven Hezbollah cells.

In addition, the Israel Defence Forces claimed they are carrying out a wave of airstrikes on dozens of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.

In addition, the Israel Defence Forces claimed they were carrying out a wave of airstrikes on dozens of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
A video released by the IDF shows the strikes landed earlier on 22 October.
Background:
- Herzi Halevi, Chief of Staff of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), informed the IDF Command on Saturday, 21 October, that the military will launch an operation to take out Hamas.
- The first 20 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip on 21 October through the Rafah checkpoint on the border with Egypt.
- Embassies told their citizens in Gaza to be ready to cross the border, but crowds of frustrated Palestinians with American, Canadian, German and British passports waited in vain for hours, at least for the fifth time this week, the Times of Israel said.
- On the night of 22 October, the Israeli military said it launched a "preemptive strike" on an underground compound on the grounds of the Al-Ansar mosque in Jenin on the West Bank.
