Quote: "The owner of a farm verbally agreed with some people from Mykolaiv Oblast that they would clear the mines from his fields [in the settlement of Chkalove – ed]. The hired ‘experts’ did not hold [mine clearance] licences.
They used the customer's tractor for demining. They merely added a makeshift part to it that was supposed to serve as mine clearance equipment.
A 32-year-old man drove the tractor. The tractor ran over a mine as they were working, and the driver was killed on the spot."
Details: Kherson Oblast Military Administration says that people who offer mine clearance services are putting themselves at risk.
Quote: "We understand that farmers want to return to work as soon as possible. But you must contact licensed companies who hold the appropriate permits, which means proper training and equipment."
