Nearly 260 Ukrainians entrapped in Gaza Strip – Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that there are almost 260 Ukrainians unable to leave the Gaza Strip, and diplomats are working together with partners to evacuate them.

Quote: "Ukrainian diplomats, intelligence and security forces continue their work to help our citizens who find themselves stuck in the Middle East, in Israel and in the Gaza Strip.
The evacuation of Ukrainians from Israel continues. More than 200 people have already been taken to Romania – mostly women and children, and new flights are being prepared.
Almost 260 of our people are known to be in the Gaza Strip at the moment. Its exit is currently blocked for citizens of all countries, but we are working with partners to evacuate our citizens."
Details: Zelenskyy assured that Ukrainian diplomats are ready to help every citizen who needs it.
"Therefore, I once again call on all Ukrainians who may be abroad and need help: at any time, in any way, contact our diplomatic missions abroad," the president said.
Background:
- The first evacuation flight with 207 Ukrainian citizens on board took off from Tel Aviv to Bucharest. Another flight with 155 Ukrainians was planned for Sunday 15 October.
- Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets arrived in Cairo to help set up a mechanism for the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from the Gaza Strip. He said that 243 Ukrainians need urgent evacuation from the Gaza Strip.
- Lubinets said that for unknown reasons, the Israeli Foreign Ministry revoked permission for the planned evacuation of Ukrainians and other foreigners from the Gaza Strip on Saturday, two hours before its start.
