Hamas claims over 2300 Palestinians killed in one week
Hamas has claimed that the death toll among Palestinians in a massive Israeli air strike on the Gaza Strip has risen to 2,329, the Gaza Health Ministry said on Sunday, 15 October.

Details: Apart from those killed, over 9,000 people have been injured.
Meanwhile, the total death toll among Israelis now stands at 1,300, with over 3,400 officially confirmed as injured.
The news agency points out that the conflict began last weekend when Hamas initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israel. This multifaceted surprise attack included a barrage of rocket attacks and infiltration into Israel by land, sea and air.
The Israel Defence Forces responded by launching Operation Iron Swords against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
Israel cut off water and electricity supplies to Gaza, further aggravating living conditions in the area, which has been under a gruelling siege since 2007, and ordered that more than 1 million residents of the northern strip be evacuated to the south.
